YWAIT.CO.NZ by Diane Waite.

Diane has been selling giftware into the retail sector for 12 years, prior to this Diane had a Gift Shop of her own for 5 years.  In 2008 she decided to follow her dreams and head off to Vietnam taking a good friend, the plan was to import product with a difference.

“We went to Hanoi in July 2008 – this was an amazing experience in itself – the people are so friendly, the humidity so high and the culture so different.

We had expected to instantly see product we loved, but it wasn’t that easy.  Firstly we had to learn to cross the roads – for those who have been there; you will understand what I mean.  Thank goodness I was born with a good sense of direction, every road and lane looks the same and of course everyone looks the same!!  We spent days visiting shops and bartering prices.

On the last two days it all came together, a sample of the Jandal bag had been made and it reached our expectations, we were introduced to a lovely lady who makes high quality Lacquerware – any changes we wanted were accommodated immediately – orders were placed and we then found a few smaller items to add to our shopping cart.

Because the Lacquerware takes approximately 3 months to make then another month to be shipped to New Zealand we missed Christmas 2008 for the Lacquerware, but we managed to get the Jandal Bag and Wet Bikini Bag out to about 12 shops and all product sold through immediately.

We are now doing the Jandal Bag and the Wet Bikini Bag again for the whole of New Zealand to have the pleasure of buying and adding a few designs to this range to keep the humour in Christmas 2009.  The new designs start arriving in late September.

I require a very high standard of product to be produced and I believe the people I buy from in Vietnam are achieving this.  The product you buy from YWAIT.CO.NZ is of the highest standard, if for some reason you are not happy with the quality I will exchange or refund your money.  Please always remember with the Lacquerware it is all individually hand made and this must be taken into account especially with the Paua pieces – each piece of paua has been cut and placed by human hand.

In the very near future I will be proudly introducing a “New Zealand made” section – this will have product sourced and completely made in New Zealand.

This web site is being launched in 2009 in the middle of a recession, but I believe we must always keep moving forward and as long as product is high quality, well priced and the service and reliability received is of the highest standard we will be successful.

Welcome to my web site – buy with confidence – I buy every piece personally and service is important to me.  You are welcome to make special requests – if I can help it will be my pleasure to do so.”
